Trick of the Tail is the group's first album after Peter Gabriel's departure. The fact that it was so incredible astonished most everyone at the time. Released in 1976, it came 18 months after the group's previous effort, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Trick of the Tail reassured fans that there was life after Gabriel, and that it might in fact be quite good.
